"You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives." Clay P.Bedford.True to this quote, we at the Department of Biotechnology strive hard to instill a sense of curiosity among the burgeoning minds. Along with the curriculum we also focus on research, placement and overall development of the students. We strongly believe that fostering innovative thinking at the universities can pave way for a better future. Our cardinal aim is to produce skilled professionals, academicians, researchers and entrepreneurs in the field of biotechnology. Ultimately, we intend to take initiatives to serve the fruits of science and technology to common man.

We conduct research forum and CARE club meetings at fortnight intervals. The 'Neomutants' the Departmental association conducts guest lectures at frequent intervals and it serves as a platform for the students showcase their talents. The Department hosts National and International level conferences and workshops every year. We also actively take part in various reputed student chapters around the world. As an outcome of our efforts, the 'Biospectrum' magazine (A cybermedia Publications, Bangalore) has ranked us 'Fourth' among the 280 private educational institutions around the country. Boosted by this credit, we look forward to devise new methods to revolutionize the conventional way of teaching by inculcating a scientific spirit among the students. Biotechnology is a diverse field that amalgamates life sciences and engineering with technology. As a result of this diversification, a great responsibility falls on the biotechnologists to contribute largely to the betterment of the society. We sow the seeds for this development here at our department by providing a place where our students can dream, innovate, create and share. This web portal is yet another endeavor of our department and we hope it contributes to accomplishment of our objectives and serves its purpose to the best.

With best wishes,
